Rods for lure fishing for predators
Today, this is the most extensive range available from the various brands on the French market. Today, there are so many techniques available that you can almost have a single product rod for each fish and each technique. You'll be able to make choices for pike, zander or even perch. This gives you an idea of the immensity of choice you can have, unlike with a reel or a line.
There are two main models fishing rods, the spinning and casting. They differ in their capabilities. For example, casting can be used for fishing with heavier lures for fish such as pike, while Spinning models are used when you need to catch more fish long distances casting or fishing with a featherweight lure and fine line.
In terms of characteristics, when fishing with a lure, you tend to vary the length of the rod and its power. If you're fishing from a boat or float tube, you'll want a rod that's not too long. On the other hand, if you're not lucky enough to be equipped with a boat, you're more likely to opt for a longer rod that will allow you to cast several dozen metres.
The same applies to the range of uses for this rod. You choose it according to your reel (casting or not) and the lures you want to use to find a particular fish. For pike, you will opt for larger ranges than for perch. Similarly, you need to choose the action of your rod. You can opt for fast actions, which are generally found on blank type carbon fibre, or a more flexible fibreglass to dampen the various vibrations of your lures.
For beginners, opt for a medium power rod, a medium heavy rod or a heavy pike rod. This will cover most of the lure weights you'll find on the market for fish in French waters. For the length, you can opt for 2.10 m to 2.70 m depending on your fishing grounds. When it comes to rod style, casting or spinning is easy to learn when you're new to the sport. Be careful to adapt the reel size and the line.

The concept is a little different for trout, which are generally found in small rivers. Trout can be caught in a variety of ways. You can opt for lures, handled minnows, fly-fishing imitations or natural baits. This means choosing a fishing rod completely different to suit the type of fishing you want to do. For example, for lures, the rods will be short and with a fairly low power range to master the use of a fine line.
To practise the Mouche, we suck in a fishing rod it's a specific type of rope that offers very good resistance and flexibility, and above all is capable of using a specific line for this technique. It will generally be between nine and 10 feet long to be at ease in a wide range of conditions.
When fishing for salmonids with natural baits, you'll often use toc-type tackle, which can be fitted or telescopic. These rods are generally large enough to allow you to place your rod easily, sometimes only 2/3 metres from the fish.
Choosing a travel rod
A reel doesn't take up much space in a suitcase, but a reel does fishing rod according to its length and its number of strands, can weight the sinner to turn towards a model multi-strand.
In fact, airlines have regularly raised the price of transport for the fishing equipment of which your fishing rod will be a part. Today, the work of brands on shafts allows you to take advantage of very high quality carbon fibre blank, while retaining an action very similar to that of a single-strand or 2-strand, by casting as in spinning. This is achieved without any major increase in weight or price. On the other hand, the price paid for boarding will be much lower. This will ensure that you can bring more with you, so you're not limited to a generalist technique.
What's more, the range has expanded considerably in recent years to include rods for freshwater, sea and exotic fishing. You'll find rods to suit a wide range of fish and tastes: action, tip type (fast, moderate for one fibre, etc.), power (heavy, medium heavy, light ....), quality of guides and many other aspects. All types of techniques will also be represented, such as fishing from the shore, from a boat or from another craft.
Most of these rods are delivered with a cover, and sometimes a case to protect them in your bag. Sometimes you can also leave the reel mounted on the rod. For added protection, we'll always send your fishing rod in a pVC case which you can choose to reuse on your travels.
