Étang de Lers, a Pyrenean paradise

Situated in the Ariege Pyrenees at an altitude of 1274m, it is surrounded by a multitude of massifs, including Mont Béas, Mont Ceint and the Pic des Trois Seigneurs, which rises to 2199m. This incredible setting, with its lush green meadows, creates a real atmosphere of paradise on earth, and is certainly one of the most beautiful views in the Pyrenees.
You can go hiking as well as fishing in the heart of the regional nature park, which is extremely rich in flora and fauna. In winter, it's a Nordic area where cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are the order of the day, but let's get back to business.
L'Lers pond welcomes you from dawn until 7pm from May to October. The fish are released twice a week during the summer, and include Fario trout, Rainbow trout and Fountain salmon, so you're sure to have a great time !

If you're visiting Savoie or live nearby, you'll want to take a look at these simply magnificent lakes. A sumptuous setting surrounded by national parks and mountain ranges, offering an almost fairytale-like atmosphere.
A single line authorised per person, prices start at €6 for a discovery card for a child under 12 without a licence. Adults pay from €14 for a day to €33 for a weekly permit.

Lake Pavin, a jewel in the Auvergne region
Of course it's not a Pond, we cheat a little, but it's for the good of everyone. This is the lake the deepest in Auvergne at 97m, a place of legend and an exceptional setting fish is memorable.

L'étang des Merles, Augignac
Our latest little marvel is located in the Périgord Vert region. The 2.5-hectare lake is full of beautiful specimens, with 6 new trout released per angler, so you're sure to catch something. Beginners will have no trouble filling their baits basket.
Every catch is released, an interesting feature of this place of fish farm, if you catch one, you get half a day's fishing free.
The setting is restful, far from the hustle and bustle of tourists and big cities, with 40 hectares of greenery on offer and facilities for quiet dining. Nature lovers should love it here, as it's open all year round without booking. For lovers of carp, it just so happens that part of the domain is reserved for it.
Equipment for pond trout fishing
Now that you've got a few ideas of where to go to fish some simply incredible waters, it's always a good idea to go with the right equipment depending on your technique and the local authorisations for certain baits, etc.
To begin with, you'll need (to practice laying or trolling) a fishing rod with a reel. A length of 3m should be sufficient, while the reel should ideally be in a size 2500 or 3000. The second part of your equipment, a line floating tutorials galore are available online !
If you're more of a surface angler, you could opt for a Buldo rig, which is ideal for this type of fishing. You can also sight-fish with a paddle, but find out if you are allowed to use spoons, which are generally prohibited in private areas. You can also fish with bait such as mealworms, moths, earthworms and woodworms.
Don't forget your basket,to keep your catches during your session and this works just as well for the carp or other carnivores.
