Our tips for a successful opening
When the fishing is authorised again, don't rush into it headlong: it requires real preparation beforehand, just as the pike fishing or the pike-perch for example. The closing dates may be long, but that shouldn't make you lose your patience.
As a first step, we advise you to get a feel for the place you are going to visit fishing. In fact, a little walk along the banks of your spot won't do you any harm, as winter floods can potentially modify the bed and therefore have a direct impact on the way you approach it on the big day. This will enable you to spot any no-kill or prohibited fishing areas.
Don't hesitate to get off the beaten track: you'll find some very pleasant places that are a little wilder, ideal when you know how busy it's going to be. You'll be much more attentive to the various details that could make all the difference.
You now have the ideal location for your day out trout, it's time to think about your technique. The water will be cold, the fish will be numb and sleepy by then, freshwater fishing in the toc would be an appropriate solution. This is an extremely effective technique for the start of the season, especially on a course close to the mountains.
Make sure you have a leader in 14/100 or 16/100, from a hook n°6 to 12 as well as an earthworm for tinted water or a moth for clear water.
La fishing at lure is also a solution favoured by a large number of sinner. You need to be able to adapt to the conditions, so take with you hard bait, , soft lures and spoons in order to sweep all the layers of water as effectively as possible. In the morning, we advise you to opt for flashy colours, ideal for attracting the attention of nonchalant fish. In the afternoon, opt for more natural colours. Fit your rig with a clip so you can change lures in a matter of seconds.
A final word of advice to ensure your start to the season is a complete success: choose a sunny spot, because when the sun is at its peak, salmonids start hunting and are much more likely to be caught. Fingers crossed that the weather will be kind!
