Salmo is a Polish brand. Created by 2 students just before the 90s, who, to make a bit of money, customised and cobbled together lures at a time when imports were limited in Poland. In the early 90s, the brand was born in Poland and began manufacturing wooden hard bait. Later, the brand changed the wood for another more solid material: a high-density foam with a buoyancy similar to that of balsa wood.

The Salmo brand is fortunate to have a large number of testers around the world. It has kept one foot on the ground to offer equipment that meets anglers' needs as closely as possible. Even today, all the lures are manufactured in their Polish factory. Individually inspected and tested in tanks, the lures must have a perfect swim before they can be marketed. What's more, the Polish brand is committed to taking back any lures with a faulty swim.
Pike anglers can now benefit from well-designed lures whose swimming action triggers the aggressiveness of these predators. The Salmo Slider and Fatso are perfect examples of this success. Their effectiveness has been proven and they have already claimed a large number of victims.
Effective, well-designed lures are all very well, but the right rods to use them are even better. Salmo has fully understood this by offering a range of casting and spinning rods that meet the needs of anglers when using its lures. Each one has been developed for a particular fishing technique. As a result, each rod offers optimum fishing comfort, precise action and controlled fighting.
When used for the techniques for which they have been designed, Salmo rods are real gems at very affordable prices. Expect to pay around a hundred euros for a rod that has been carefully finished and developed in part by anglers.
