Sakura Fishing is a fishing brand that originated in France, not Japan as its name suggests. It was developed on the premises of the Sert company, near the Gironde capital of Bordeaux. Designed for lure fishing for carnivorous fish, it was one of the first lures to be designed for this purpose in France, targeting pike and black bass as well as all other fish including pikeperch and sheatfish.
Lures have been a key area of development in building the brand's reputation.
Keen to offer a range of different hulls and shapes, we have a wide range of swimbaits, with some models that are well known to anglers today. The Mister Joe and, more recently, the Dynastic are just some of the outstanding models. We'll see that many other lures exist.
On the rods side, the range is also very wide, with a desire to offer you a model that best suits your needs. Trinis, Salt Sniper or Ionizer will provide you with quality materials and always the right accessories, such as rings or reel seats. You'll find boat series, a choice of sizes and always versatility and that characteristic orange colour.

We think it's important to start with the chatterbaits or bladed jigs. The French brand has made a real name for itself with the Cajun and Zuid, the former targeting medium-sized predators and the latter powerful pike. Serious construction, low price, everything to help you give in to temptation.
You'll find the same names and the same destinations for Sakura spinnerbaits. From the classic size for medium-sized predators to heavier, more imposing models for pike and catfish, you'll have an interesting choice, particularly in terms of colours. This means you'll have a solution for any season.
Soft lures from Sakura Fishing are also well represented. You'll find a range that has been steadily expanding over the last few years, for both sea and freshwater use. A series of innovative frogs, Bubble Frog and Rider Frog, are available, combining complementary actions to make the fish react.
Shad palettes with Slash Blade are also present, with particular attention paid to the quality of manufacture and a very broad colour chart, offering solutions for waters of all turbidities. A number of shads round off this series, in a variety of sizes. The Jackax is ideal for freshwater, particularly for pike. The Sodium Shad is an excellent choice for targeting bass when casting back, thanks to its articulated joint.
But the Sakura brand is best known to anglers for its swimbaits, which already have a well-established reputation. They are as effective as their first casts, and experienced anglers will be happy to advise you on how to get started with a particular technique or species.
The S Shiner 190 is the latest in a series of large swimbaits for stalking your favourite predators. At a very attractive price, it allows you to benefit from this calibre of lure without having to spend crazy amounts of money.
The Phoxy Minnow is the brand's most versatile small lure. Equally at home on trout and perch, it benefits from quality workmanship and proven efficiency.
The SCB series will also be serious competitors to the premium brands. These crankbaits come in a range of swim depths and sizes to cover both river use and pike-perch fishing at depths of several metres.
Finally, for the sea, the is the benchmark, especially from a boat. Available in 3 sizes, it can be used for both sea bass and larger predators in exotic destinations.
The most popular Sakura rods are spinning rods. You'll find rods for every technique and in a wide range of lengths, for both marine and freshwater use. They are fitted with a spinning reel they'll be fitted with a classic and treated to a high standard, including top brand equipment such as the Fuji rings, once again the benchmark in Japan.
The latest Salt Sniper 2.0 and Ionizer models, released in 2020, will be the series of choice, and you should be able to find a model to suit your needs, whether you're fishing in the sea or on the lake, with a lever arm that's just right for controlling both animation and fighting.
The casting models follow the same evolution as the previous series. Blank modern, combining power, resonance and lightness, they too will be enhanced by the addition of Fuji brand equipment. The latest generation materials will also be used in the Ionizer or speciz 2.0 series, including the 662 xh and 742 xh models, which are very popular for pike and catfish.
But the brand's origins not so far from the Atlantic coast have led it to develop series for jigging, particularly in the summer months. Several series of foils are available, with lever arms of varying lengths, depending on what you're looking for. Slow and light jigging are techniques you can easily approach.
Finally, travel rods are also present in this series of rods, notably with two popular series, the Bidaia and the trinis. These rods are available in a range of lengths and powers to cover just about every type of fishing you may encounter. Their compact size and multi-section construction won't spoil the action of the rod, which will retain the curve and progressiveness that are essential for good fight management.
