This is the heaviest version of the already famous Swimpike. Weighing in at 85g, it generally descends at a speed of 1.5m every second. This version has been designed to fish at depths greater than 5m. This will allow you to reach fish in water layers that are not usually exploited by big hard swimbaits.
Biwaa has identified 5 ways of using the swimpike:
1- Swimming downstream: The simple fact of letting the SWIMPIKE descend into the water immediately triggers an extremely attractive S-shaped swim. This animation is often more than enough to trigger an attack from a predator.
2- Dead Sticking: By working on a very special balancing act, BIWAA have achieved a new technical feat, a sinking head combined with a suspending body. When the SWIMPIKE rests on its head on the bottom, its body rises up in suspension mode and undulates with the movements of the water. This simple "Dead Sticking" technique is often used to hook less active and more educated fish.
3- Jigging (FAST SINKING 85g model): The special balance gives the SWIMPIKE an undulating action on the way down and on the way up. Once on the bottom, the SWIMPIKE can be jigged up and down to trigger bites from predators which are extremely receptive to this type of aquatic ballet.
4- S-Swimming action: The S-shaped wave action or "flag swimming" developed on the SWIMPIKE will leave no angler, and especially no predator, indifferent. This swimming action is the very expression of a prey in distress unable to face the attack of a predator. As it undulates, the segments that clash and emit a very distinctive sound are part of the stimuli that make predators react from afar.
5- The FAST SINKING 85g model is the first bigbait to have its attachment ring positioned further back from the head so it can be used vertically. The SWIMPIKE will stay above the bottom of the boat and can be worked like a lure specially designed for this technique.
Imagine spending a whole day using a 24cm big bait without the slightest difficulty! At 75g or 85g, the SWIMPIKE is the lightest lure on the market, yet the perfect size for big predators. These two models are also the only big SWIMBAIT capable of efficiently exploring all layers of water, from beaches (SINKING 75g model) to depths of over 15 metres (FAST SINKING 85g model).
