The spinnerbait is often referred to as the spinner 2.0. Although it is most commonly used for pike and black bass fishing, versions of this lure have been developed for trout fishing.
The best known of the spinnerbaits for fishing isArea's from Lucky Craft. This lure is widely used in rivers and ponds.
Trout spinnerbaits usually have a single blade. More likely to be round in shape, this blade emits strong vibrations as well as beautiful flashes of light. This is the lure of choice for fishing rivers where the water is tinted and there is little current.
Although very effective in rivers, the trout spinnerbait has proved to be a formidable lure for area fishing. The ponds and lakes where this fishing technique is used have no current and the water is not always clear.
Given the size of these ponds and the small number of marked spots, trout spinnerbaits can cover a lot of ground quickly and efficiently. What's more, this lure can be seen from a good distance, making it easy to use.
Today's spinnerbaits come in a variety of models, some with a silicone skirt, others with an imitation fish as a target.
