The hard bait Squirrel is a hard jerkbait from the brand Illex. This Jackall jerkbait is the most versatile in the range. The Squirrel can be animated with twitching, using short jerks of the tip. This animation produces a swimming action that its designer has named "Squirming", which is expressed in particular when the lure hits or comes off an obstacle. Squirming is a frenetic wriggling action that is particularly attractive and results in an off-axis swimming action with unpredictable movements very similar to those of fleeing prey.

The Squirrel is a hard suspending lure. It therefore tolerates long pauses to decide which fish to follow. Each time it pauses, the Squirrel stays at the same depth as a small white fish might do when stationary.

With a length of 7.6cm, this is a very modest jerkbait, ideal for fishing for perch, black bass, zander and big trout. Its swimming depth of between 0.50 and 1m is perfect for fishing rivers, canals and ponds.
