The spinning rod Ocea Plugger Flex Drive incorporates the famous JDM Ocea Big Game rods from Shimano. This rod is available in 3 power ratings and is designed for long-range fishing targeting surface-feeding pelagic species such as tuna, GT trevally and tarpon. It features a progressive action that optimises the fishing action while retaining a reserve of power in the butt to ensure total control during fights.
The Ocea Plugger Flex Drive rod is ideal for use with swimming fish, stickbaits and poppers. Thanks to the more progressive action of its blank compared with most Ocea models, this rod will surprise you when fishing for very aggressive fish. The rod blank reacts instantly to increased force with a reassuring combination of flex and power.
In extreme situations, the power hidden in the butt gives you total control over your catch and inspires confidence when you need it most. This rod also provides long-range casting performance to reach distant hunts. The progressive action of the blank optimises the action of the lure, particularly when worked fast and hard.
The Ocea Plugger Flex Drive blank is constructed from two of Shimano's most advanced carbon materials, Spiral X-Core and Hi-Power X. It also benefits from Nanopitch technology. These carbons work together to reduce the torsion of the blank when twisted and pressed. As a result, you get significantly longer, more accurate casts, as well as improved power when fighting. This rod Shimano is fitted with a Fuji Titanium SiC K-Type starting ring and Fuji Stainless Steel SiC intermediate rings, optimised for maximum casting performance. The addition of an exclusive Shimano CI4+ non-slip reel seat allows you to generate maximum casting speed to reach fish feeding at a distance.
