The Cardiff Refrain 50HS is a long-casting sinking lure from the Cardiff brand Shimano. This hard lure features Scale Boost technology which gives it the natural appearance of a fish thanks to its scales. This little swimmer has been specially designed for trout fishing. However, it is also ideal for other small freshwater predators such as perch and chub.
The Cardiff Refrain 50HS stands out from other trout swimbaits thanks to its density. In fact, it's very easy to cast. This means you can fish from a distance without difficulty to reach even the most distant trout. The weight of this lure is concentrated at the back, so despite its light weight, the Cardiff Refrain 50S flies through the air with the straightness of an arrow and can reach surprisingly long distances.
If you opt for a smooth, steady retrieve, this hard lure generates a flash action, which is amplified by the straight-sided body shape and Scale Boost technology. The faster the retrieve, the more aggressive the action. At every break, the Cardiff Refrain 50HS opts for a "shimmy fall" action that replicates the swim of a wounded baitfish.
