Description
The Offshore Stick GTK 80 SJX is a spinning rod from the brand Smith dedicated to tuna fishing. Like all the rods in the Offshore Stick range, the GTK 80 SJX is made from a new composite material. Its blank combines 30 and 40T carbon, Kevlar and titanium. This combination increases strength by around 25% compared with conventional 30-40T carbon. It also reduces the diameter of the blank by around 9%.
Tuna fishing is a sport that requires lightweight equipment for maximum comfort and to last the day. This new manufacturing method makes the blank lighter and gives it incredible elasticity for long, powerful casts.
The GTK 80 SJX Offshore Stick features diamond wrapping and is double-tied with fuji SIC Ocean guides.
It will perform well when casting lures from 35g to 130g and will accept up to PE 5 braid. What's more, the curvature of the blank during casting has been designed to take into account the way tuna defend themselves.
This lure is clearly aimed at tuna weighing over 40 kg.
