Accessories for lighter pike reels

Pike are powerful fish that need to be fished with the right equipment. This often heavy equipment is not very comfortable for long days of fishing. Even if more and more reels have limited weights, the few grams on the scales are not irreversible.

By changing a few simple parts on your pike reel, you can make it lighter without having to change your reel. The cranks can be changed for carbon cranks, while the spools can be swapped for honeycomb spools. Honeycomb spools are made from a lighter material, with a construction similar to that of a honeycomb.

Spools for multi-purpose reels

As well as making your reel lighter and optimising its technical capabilities, having an extra spool for your reel is very practical. Some spinning reels come with 2 spools of different capacities.

This makes your reel very versatile. You can use your reel to fish for pike with different lures and different techniques. A single reel can be used for both line fishing with soft lures and crankbait fishing. All you need to do is adapt your line body: nylon, fluorocarbon, braid to the technique you want to use.
